The Westlock Wolverines are excited to announce the addition of rookie forward Cody Haller to the active roster.

Haller, 19, comes to Westlock after a standout junior season where he posted 28 goals and 34 assists — numbers that caught the attention of the Wolverines' coaching staff early in the year. Known for his speed on the wing and a deceptively hard shot, he fits right into the Wolverines' aggressive, drive-to-the-net style of play.

"We've been watching Cody for a while now," said head coach Dale Morrow. "He competes hard every shift, he's not afraid of the corners, and he has the hockey sense to make plays under pressure. We think he's going to be a great fit here."

Haller is expected to slot into the bottom-six forward group to start, giving him time to adjust to the pace of play at this level. But if his junior numbers are any indication, it may not be long before he's pushing for bigger minutes.

The Wolverines are currently sitting in second place in the conference, just behind the Sylvan Lake Scorpions, and the front office is making it clear — they're building for a deep playoff run.

Haller will wear #22 and is expected to make his debut at the next home game.
